My path to founding Evolve Studios was deeply personal, rooted in healing my mental health, navigating grief , trauma and being a single mum. During that period, creativity became much more than something I enjoyed. It became a way of processing experience, making sense of things I could not always put into words, and gradually finding my way back to myself.

That journey led me to dedicate more than 10 years to studying across creative art disciplines, eventually completing a B.A. Hons degree in Contemporary Art Practice. Over the years I have worked with jewellery, metal, found objects, photography, mixed media and visual storytelling. Making things with my own hands, experimenting with materials and learning to see differently has always been at the heart of why I am an artist, and that hands-on background still shapes the way I work today.

Photography became another part of that process. For me, it has always been about more than the finished image. Sessions naturally become conversations. We talk, laugh, share ideas and sometimes those conversations become much more meaningful than either of us expected. That trust matters to me. It helps people relax, allows ideas to develop naturally and often changes what we create together.

 

I don’t believe the photographer should be the only person with a voice in the final outcome. My experience and artistic eye are part of the process, but so are your personality, your ideas and how you want to be seen. I love hearing those ideas, adding my own, changing things as we go and seeing where the session takes us. I don’t want every shoot to look the same, because people are not the same.

I am drawn to texture, colour, light, styling, objects, small details and the unexpected things that sometimes become the strongest part of an image. That creative curiosity is still very much part of how I approach portraiture.

Digital software and new technologies are now part of the wider creative world, and I am interested in how they can support the process without replacing it. For me, the important part is still the human one — the ideas, the conversation, the trust, the experimentation and the experience of creating something together.

 

Through years of personal growth and healing, I now embrace life very differently. As I continue developing my own skills and passions, I want Evolve Studios to remain a place of empowerment, enjoyment, creativity and genuine collaboration.

 

My hope is that when you come to Evolve Studios, you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, involved enough to have a voice, and excited to see what we can create together.
