 What I Do When I’m Not Shooting People 😁

When I’m not in the studio shooting people — photography people, calm down 😆 — I’m usually still making, questioning, collecting, reading, writing or disappearing down some completely unexpected creative rabbit hole.

Evolve Studios is only one part of a much bigger creative practice for me. I’ve worked across photography, art, jewellery, writing, digital work and research, and I tend to notice the odd little things other people might scroll past: a sentence, a colour, an old photograph, a broken object, a strange advert, a bit of packaging, a screenshot or a conversation that suddenly becomes the start of something else.

A lot of my work begins that way. Not with a polished plan, but with a question.

Why did that catch my attention?

Why did that image make me feel something?

Why do we trust one photograph and question another?

Why does something online seem to follow us around afterwards?

What happens when technology starts answering back?

So when the studio is quiet, there is usually still quite a lot going on behind the scenes — research, writing, old work being rediscovered, new ideas appearing, and occasionally me staring at something completely random thinking, *there’s something in that...*

The camera might be down, but apparently my brain never really clocks off. 😆
